With reference to our letters dated the

1st September 1938 and 26th May 1939 respecting pensions granted from the Hong Kong Widows' and Orphans' Pensions

Fund on or after the 1st June 1938, we have now been

asked by the Secretary of State for the Colonies to

transmit to you the accompanying copy of a Hansard

Report dated 29th June 1939 of the proceedings of the

Hong Kong Legislative Council containing a resolution

adopted that day, and to inform you that the Governor's

sanction referred to at the end of paragraph 2 of that

resolution was exercised in your favour on the 28th July

1939.
