1940 in
connection with he temporary greement (re-
garding navigation of the Pearl Hiver by
certain British vessels and visits to Hong
Kong by certain Japanese vessels pending
restoration of the Pearl @iver to normal
navi ation) initialled by Mr. Oke zaki and
Mr. Blunt on July 4th, 1939, as subsequently
extended and amended by supplementary me
anda dated December lat and December 19 th,
1939, initialled by Mr. Kita and Mr. Stark
Toller.
This Busplementary ́emorandum is sub-
ject to all the terms of the foregoing
Agreement (ant suplementary memoranda)
except as specifically mentioned below,
and in particular is subject to article 8
of the original Agreement of «uly 4th, 1939.

In extension of the Original
Agreement of July 4th, 1939, it is agreed
that with the re-opening of the
ustoma at
Canton as from ari2 30th, 1940, the
carriage of cargo in the vesacle mentioned
in that Agreement will be permitted, subject
to certain restrictions in regard to classes
of goods carried which will be published from
time to time by Custom Notice for public
information posted in the Custome House.
It is understood that the Hongkong
Government is at liberty to impose the same
