Your Excellency,
I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of Your Excellency's note No. 48 of the 25th March relative to the case involving the detention at Hongkong of 6 vessels belonging to the Cheng Kee Steam Navigation Company Limited and to inform you that, contrary to the statements in your note, this case was given a fair hearing by the Court. If the Japanese interested are not satisfied with the decision, further legal remedies are still open to them.
I avail myself of this opportunity etc.,
His Excellency
Mr. Hachiro Arita,
His Imperial Japanese Majesty's
Minister for Foreign Affairs.
