Mr. Mayall of the Far Eastern Department
of the Foreign Office has rung me up to say that they
would like this request to the Governor of Hong Kong
to consult Messrs. Williamson about the proposed terms
of release of Williamson's steamer, the S.S. "sagrēs",
to be treated as a matter of urgency and done by
telegraph. F.0. did as a matter of fact ask this
in the first sentence of paragraph 7 of their letter.
Subject to this I have no comments except
that a copy of the telegram sent to Hong Kong should
be sent to the Ministry of Shipping and Admiralty as
well as to the Foreign Office.
