I first came to Hong Kong during the 4th Moon this

year (May 1939). I was unemployed for 3 months. I had

$300.00 Hong Kong money when I arrived and lived on this till

I got a post with the HANG FAT Coy. My father CHAN YEE had a

restaurant at Amoy but it went bankrupt over a year ago. My

father gave me $300.00 and told me to start a business on my

own account. I therefore came to Hong Kong with that end, in

view. On arrival in Hong Kong I went to live with a friend

of mine named TSE TO HANG who lives at 50 Morrison Hill Road,

2nd floor. I remained there for 3 months. I then moved to

No.2 Leighton Hill Road, ground floor, which is still my Hong

Kong address.

My friend TSE TO HANG is the master of the HANG FAT

Transportation Coy. My work consists of looking after the

cargo on board junks which are hired by the HANG FAT Coy to

convey cargo to NAM TAU. This cargo consists of beans, ground-

nuts, flour and brown paper.

On arrival at NAM TAU we anchor at TAI TSAN.

Before leaving Hong Kong a cable is sent to the SAN

HING Coy in Canton, the SAN HING then notify a man named LAM

CHUNG Who is at NAM TAU. LAM CHUNG then has boats waiting for

our arrival, the goods are transferred to these boats and
