At about 22.00 hours on the 21.1.40 I left HAU

At about 23.59 hours same night (21.1.40) when

sailing about 1⁄2 mile off the shore at YUNG LONG WAN in

British waters a Japanese motor boat painted white approached

About 20 minutes later, the Japanese stopped

territory. When off LIN TIN Island in Chinese waters the

At about 08.00 hours next morning (22.1.40) the

Steam Launch KWAI HING which was towing 2 junks was fired on

by the crew of the Japanese motor boat. The launch altered

course and went towards the Japanese motor boat.
