I am the brother of PANG FUT (

the master of the above junk.

} who is

At about 03.00 hours on 25th October, 1939, I

was asleep in the hold astern when I heard WONG MUK (

shout out "There's a motor boat coming." I together with

the other members of the crew at once went up on deck.

On reaching the deck the motor boat opened fire with

machine gun. PANG FUT, my brother, then shouted out to

my sister named PANG WO (

) to hand up the arms and

ammunition. My elder brother PANG FUT took one rifle and

I took the othe and we each fired two shots at the

approaching motor boat. The motor boat then circled

around my junk and my brother put down his rifle and fired

the cannon at the motor boat from the port side of my junk.

The white light which was at the head of the motor boat

then went out. The motor boat had no port or starboard

navigation lights.

We left our base at CHING SHAN KEUK (

at 15.00 hours on 24th October, 1939, arriving at Deep

Bay at 18.00 hours same day.

After being attacked we set sail to CHING SHAN

KEUK. When sailing off CHEUNG SHA WAN (

we saw No.3 Police Launch and reported the incident to

the European officer in Charge, who took my injured sister

PANG WO aboard and removed her to Kowloon Hospital.
