WONG MUK (
), age 39 years, folie of Fishing
Junk No. £383 H.D., native of Yacau, stetes:
I am a folie employed on board the above junk.
At about 03.00 hours on 25th October, 1939, I
was on the top deck fishing off the starboard side when I noticed a motor boat approaching my junk about 30 yards astern. It had no port or starboard navigation lights,
only a white light at the bow. on seeing the motor boat
I raised the alarm. My master and several folies then
came up on deck and the crew of the motor boat opened fire
at my junk. My master and his younger brother named
FANG FUK (
} each armed themselves with a rifle
and opened fire at the approaching motor boat. Ky master
then went over to the port side of my junk and fired at the
motor boat with the cannon. The white light on the motor boat then went out and the motor boat steamed away towards
the direction of LIN TIN (
). The last time we
went out fishing in Deep Bay was about 2 weeks ago.
During the past 2 weeks we have been fishing off TUNG KVU
) Light House. We change our fishing grounds
{
according to the wind, as we require a high wind for
trawler fishing.
When not fishing our base is at
CHING SHAN KEUK (
