were conveyed in to Hong Kong where ANO VO was removed
to the Kowloon Hospital.
I visited the complainant's junk at CHING
SHAN KEUX (
) at about 15.00 hours same day
(25th October, 1939.
on boarding complainant's junk
CEAN DAU the steeraman handed me the part of a core
of a nickel bullet which he said he had found outside
the door of the forward cabin on the starboard wide of
the junk at 07.00 hours that morning. on my examination
of the junk I found a bullet hole on the starboară
side of the junk. I traced the course of the bullet and
found that after striking the starboard side of the
junk the bullet penetrated a wooden partition which divides
the forward and stern cabins. The bullet then struck
the baulk head and on rebounding struck complainant's
sister named "ANO YO in the right buttock.
I examined the two rifles which showed recent
signs of firing and smelt strongly of cordite. The
cannon also showed recent signs of having been fired.
At 10.00 hours on the 30th Getober, 1939,
I handed the core of the bullet given to me by CHAN LAU
over to Sergeant ⠀erkins folice Armourer (statement
attached, for his report on same.
At about 1.30 hours same evening (25th (ctober,
1939) I visited the scene of the incident aboard No.11
Motor Boat together with the master and steereman who
pointed out to me the spot the incident is alleged to
have taken place. It was roughly about one mile or 80
