but just carried on.

The two Japanese in blue uniform who had returned

to the warship during the search returned on board my launch. All persons on board the junk were called on my launch and the Japanese who spoke Punti addressed us all by saying "You should not help CHIANG KAI SHEK. If you are good citizens and not help CHIAN G KAI SHEK I will release you,

but if you do transport ammunition we will cut your heads

off".

I was then forced to sign and thumb print a chit which read "The Steam Launch KWONG HING was only searched by the Japanese to find out its nationality and that there

has been no trouble."

We were told to sail away at 20.00 hours and take the junk in tow to Hong Kong. I arrived in Shaukiwan at 02.30 hours on 22.1.40 and reported at "T" (Tsim Sha Tsui)

at 07.30 hours.

On the journey back from SAM MUN one of my fokis WONG LOI informed me that his trousers had been cut by one of the Japanese bayonets and that he had a small wound. WONG LOI showed me his wound on his right thigh when we arrived back in Shaukiwan. It was only a small stab wound

about one inch long. At the Water Police Wong Loi was sent to the Kowloon Hospital and had his wound dressed.
