States:
I sailed from TAI PING Market, TUNG KUN on the
26th March, 1940, bound for Hong Kong. On the 27th March,
1940, when we were sailing off TAI CHAN Custom Station (Chinese Territory) we sighted a Japanese warship No.17 at
about 17.00 hours. This warship called to us to stop and
opened fire with mac ine guns we let go our anchor, this
warship then sent a motor boat over to us and we were towed
over to the warship.
We were detained by this ship three days during
this three days our cargo was taken from us it consisted
of 150 picula of rattan string Valued $450.00, 200 piculs
of ratten mats Valued $6000.00, 500 piculs of preserved
vegetables Valued $7500.00, 500 piculs seaweeds Valued
$3000.00, 50 jars of preserved turnips Valued $500.00, piculs of ginger Valued #120.00, TOTAL VALUE $17,570.00.
e were released on the 30th March, 1910, and we sailed to
Hong Kong arriving on the 3rd April, 1940.

On board my junk at the time of the seizure were
30 owners of the cargo.
