I am the master of fishing junk No.4267H.C. which left

Aberdeen at 03.00 hours on 22nd April, 1940, to fish at the

south of LING TING, Chinese Territory, I had on board a crew of

eleven.

On 23rd April, 1940, at about 15.00 hours I was fishing

about 50 yards to the south of LING TING, Chinese Territory. I

saw a Japanese motor boat painted white and flying no flag come

from the direction of LING TING Island. When the motor boat was

approaching one shot was fired. I lowered my sail and the motor

boat came alongside my junk. I did not see any name or number

on the motor boat. Six Japanese dressed in blue uniform and

armed with short swords boarded my junk. I did not see any arms

from which the shot was fired when the motor boat approached my

junk.

The Japanese searched my junk and removed two rifles,

150 rounds rifle ammunition to their motor boat. They did not

take anything else and after about one hour the motor boat sailed

towards SAM MUN (South west of Hong Kong). I then sailed back to

Aberdeen arriving at 08.00 hours on 24th April, 1940, I reported

at Aberdeen on 24th April, 1940, at 11.00 hours and I was sent

to Tsim Sha Tsui at 18.00 hours. All my catches of fish I always bring back and sell to fish dealers in Hong Kong. This time the Japanese did not take any fish, I had 15 piculs of fish on board value $120.000 H.K. I always operate from Aberdeen. I had on board three cannon which the Japanese did not touch.
