Sir,
I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your

letter No. 53687/40 of the 23rd February transmitting copy of
a telegram from the Governor of Hong Kong regarding the
proposed construction
Chung Valley.

of a storage reservoir in the Tai Lam
In compliance with your request we have asked
Messrs. Binnie Deacon & Gourley to arrange for a partner to
visit Hong Kong by the end of March provided the data which the
Colonial Government has submitted are sufficient to justify the
visit of a partner before further data is collected.
3.
Doubtless you have informed the Colonial Government
that the terms proposed for their services by Messrs. Binnie,
Deacon & Gourley in their letter of the 3rd January were
subsequently modified by their letter of 25th January.
