21st March, 1940.

With reference to your telegram No. 110

of 15th March, 1940, regarding the proposed Tai Lam

Chung Valley storage reservoir, I have the honour

to transmit herewith particulars of boreholes Nos.

1 and 2 on the line of the proposed lower dam site.

I am advised that the latest information

regarding the upper dam site is disappointing, the

fault having been intercepted by a bore 150 feet

upstream from the original centre line.

3.

Borings on the lower dam site will be

proceeded with as expeditiously as possible and

further particulars will be sent as soon as they

are available. A plan of the site shewing

borehole positions will be forwarded by next week's

air mail.

I have the honour to be,

Sir,

Your most obedient, humble servant,

d.

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE

MALCOLM MACDONALD, M.P.,
