There you have another quite different story.

you to reconcile any two of these statements.

I defy any of

They are all

essentially different in every particular that matters.

Here he says "we had a fight and he hurt me, but that was all

over." He made no reference to the foot-ball. "And I ran

back to him again and I spoke to him about the wounding, but

he would not listen". Another insult! "Then he tried to

assault me, he did not succeed and I ran to my bed. He

followed me, I took up my knife to frighten him and

unintentionally I stabbed him."

Let me say just a word or two about that story.

In some particulars it agrees with what he has told us

today, though it is a very different story in the main, but

there are some points of agreement. If he is telling the

truth there you will realize first of all that all the

evidence that we have had about the attack taking place at

the deceased man's own bed is quite untrue, the fight was at

the accused's bed and Lo Yee cannot have seen the pursuit he

talks of, for the things must have been reversed and the

accused man must have been running as fast as he could to

get to the shelter and safety of his bed, pursued by the

deceased man.

Then he says "I got my knife and the wounds were quite

unintentional."

The wounds were, a couple of them, deadly stab wounds

one in the abdomen between the naval and the private parts

which perforated the intestines, another only 14" away from

it in the groin which again was deep enough and went through

into the intestines, the third one a very short distance from

the others, just above what is medically termed the iliac

crest which is the top of the hip joint, that against has got

soft tissues underneath and is a most dangerous place to stab
