Ex. Chinese saflar living in No. 3 hut. On 30th May I was awakened by a cry & went to No.2 hut. There I saw deceased lying on the ground bleeding. I saw accused lying on a bunk covered with a blanket. I went up to him & said "why have you done such a thing: cutting?" He replied "Some days ago we had a game of football & deceased hit me with the ball. As I was wounded with the ball I asked deceased to give me money as compensation for the injury & for treatment. Deceased refused to give me money. I was not strong enough to fight him so I used this means against him".

Deceased was not covered with a blanket. He was just lying on the ground. He hadn't yet been bandaged. He had on a pink singlet & red shirt of the basket ball team, There were bloodstains on his garments & there was a lot of blood on the ground. I have recounted my conversation with accused as accurately as I can remember it. Accused never said he was provoked into a fight by deceased.
