The strength of the Volunteer

Defence Corps on which the above-mentioned reserve of mobilization equipment was based was sixty officers and 1,500 other ranks. Since the time when the original estimate was made the strength of the Corps has undergone a further increase as a consequence of the Compulsory Service Ordinance, No.32 of 1939, and of the outbreak of the war. is now considered desirable to provide a reserve of mobilization equipment for a strength of approximately ninety officers
