I have the honour to inform you that His Majesty
has not been advised to cerolee his power of disallowance
in respect of the Ordinance forwarded with your deanatch
No. 786 07 the 11th December, 1939, entitled ##
An Ordinance
to apply a sue not execeding Forty-nine milli-n deven humired
and six thousand seven hundred sud eighty-seven Dollars to
the Publie jervice or the financial year begiming on the
1st January, 1940, az ending on the Bist Karch, 1941, and
also to apply an a111tional us not excosting Five hundred
and fifty-nin: thousand one hundred Dollars to the
Waterworks “enewala and Improvements Fund for the service
of that Find in the Jald fignacial year".
2. I alas take the opportunity to acknowledge the
receipt of your despatch No. 7:2 of the 17th November, 1939,
forwarding the dmất revisor Latiuates of revenue and
expenditure of Hong Kong for 19÷0-41 and copies of
resolutions panaod by the Legislative Council on the
16th November, 1939, authorizing loan expenditure and
expenditure cut of the Enterworks Renewsia Fund, and to
confirm my telegram Ko. E of the 23rd January,
reads as follows:-
