With reference to your minute, 53952/39, of the

26th June on the subject of the proposed statue of His

Majesty, King George VI, to be erected in Hong Kong for

centenary celebrations, I enclose for your information,

a copy of a letter dated 1st September with enclosures,

from Mr. Gilbert Ledward, R.A.

We should be glad to know whether you wish to

make any observations before we send the photographs to

Hong Kong and ask for the details of the inscription required

by Mr. Ledward.

We would add that since the receipt of the enclosed

letter, we have been advised by Mr. Ledward that he has

already send photographs to His Majesty's Private Secretary.

Kindly return the enclosures with your reply.
