To assist une Harbour Master and Deputy Harbour Master generally in the administration of Harbour, Light- house services, Duoyage, dangerous goous ordinance, conventions for the salety of life at sea and other similar enactments.

£750 per annum rising by annual increments of £50 to £900 then by amual increments of £50 to £1,000

Salary is paid in local currency while one Officer is serving in the Colony, at a rate of exchange Iixed from time to time by Government. This rate is at present 1/sd. - Hong Kong $1.00 so long as the Treasury rate 01 dollar, wased on une average monthly rate of the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, remains al of welow chat rate,
