I am directed to acknowledge the receipt of
your letter No. P/670 dated 28th June 1939, and to inform
you that the names of Messrs. M.T.H. Blake, J. R. Crook,
C.H. Gale and G.W.Kynoch were omitted from the lists to
which you refer for the reasons set out in the enclosed
statement.
2. I am also to inform you that on 28th July 1939,
the Governor in Council approved that the cases of the
officers named in the enclosed list may be considered special
cases for the purposes of the resolution approved by the
Legislative Council on 29th June, 1939, i.e. that in these
cases pensions paid in England under the Widows' and Orphans'
Pension Scheme shall be payable at 3s. Od. to the dollar.
