Dear Mr. Bisö,

1

I am replying to your letter or the 30th March aduressed to Mr. Richardson because I have Lyself been in communication with mr. E.B. Nelson to whom it refers.

I was given to understand that the

Colonial Office would raise no objection to Mr.Nelson resigning to take up an appointment with us, and indeed I secured from the Air Ministry his continueu release from the Royal Air Force Reserve in order that he might come to us. The work for which we want him is ur¿ent and is of a mind for which he has special qualifications not easily to be found at the present time.

I am therefore reatly disappointed that the Governor of Hong Kong is making the acceptance of Mr. Nelson's resi¿ation conditional upon`a replacement being found for him and I venture to request urgently that his month's notice may be accepted now.

W.J. Bibó, Esq., Colonial office, Downing Street, S.W. 1.

Yours sincerely,

Wyr Gunciman
