Confessions in connection with the Ching Case which

occurred in Tientsin.

We, Chuk Chung-leung, native of Ku Chi of Honan Province,

age 19, third-year student of the Upper School of the

Tientsin Industrial and Commercial College, and Yuen Hon-

tsun, native of Sheung Yu of Chekiang Province, age 20,

first-year student of the same College, are the No.1 and

No.2 makers of these confessions respectively.

Our minds were affected by occurrences

following the July 7th incident,

the enemy not only

used her furious force to invade our country and massacre

our brethren, but also enlisted traitors of Han to carry

into effect her plan of employing Chinese to subjugate

China and to aid her in her evil-doings. Of the good

boys and girls of our Chinese nation, there was not one

who, filled with righteous indignation, had failed to

rise courageously to join the united front against the

enemy.

We are students still having schooling. We had

an ambition to give up our studies and join the army, but

circumstances had prevented its attainment. We had been

thinking, however, that with the hot blood filling our

chest we surely could, for the sake of our country and

our race, engage ourselves in punishing the traitors of

Han and thus we might deliver a blow to the attacker.

Then it happened that the puppet North China Federal

Reserve Bank under the enemy's direction had been

instituted. This puppet bank was in reality the head-

quarters of an institution for extracting our brethren's blood and flesh (= hard-earned money) in North China and

for impairing our country's finance. The manager of its
