thigh. A crowd of about four hundred
of the internees then collected and
began stoning the sentries. The
troops had to advance with fixed

bayonets the High Port. A minor
incident occurred in which one of the
prisoners was wounded in the back with
a bayonet point, but order was quickly
restored.
FURTHER ACTION.
The second of these cases
occurred on January the 9th. The
sentry on duty noticed one of the
prisoners climbing the high outside
fence of the camp. The guard shouted
to the man, but he took no notice;
he managed to get over the fence and
began to run. The camp Commandant
then ordered a sentry to fire. The
escaping man was hit in the shoulder
and taken to hospital.
