These subsequent developments now render our
letter to the Foreign Office at 30 out of date; and
we should ? now write to the Foreign Office,
referring to 30, and saying that in view of 36 the
S. of S. does not consider it necessary to send a
reply to the Governor's despatch at 28, until some-
thing further has been received from Hong Kong,
(presumably the Governor will inform us of what has
taken place subsequent to No. 28.)
