Sir,
I am directed by Viscount Halifax to refer to the letter
from this department No. 936/150/10 of the 31st January
and to telegram ho. 11 from His majesty's Consul-General at
Canton of the 2nd February, regarding Japanese intentions
towards third power aircraft flying over China, and to
telegram No. 60 of the 8th February from the Government of
Hong Kong to the Secretary of State for the Colonies an: the
telegram timed 1432/8 from the Commander-in-Chief China
tation to the Admiralty, regarding the Japanese attack on the
aircraft "Della".

2. Lord Halifax understania that both the Air Council
FacDonald are disposed to share the view, which he
expressed in the letter from this department under reference,
that no further action need be taken with regard to the
notification by the Japanese Consul-O-neral at Canton referred
to in "r. alunt's telegrams Nos. 8 and 9 of the 25th un: 26th
January. He further understanus that hesars. Imperial airways
have instructed their pilots flying on the regular service
between Sangkok and Hong Kong not to fly within a radius of
fifteen miles of eichow Island, in accordance
Japonese request.
