According to information received in
Shanghai from the Commercial Secretary, Hong Kong,
it then appeared that the C.N.A.C. service between
Hong Kong and Chungking had not been entirely
discontinued, but would be carried on intermittently.
The telegram from Canton at 5(c) then
reports that the Japanese Consul General has
notified the Consular body very urgently that the
notification reported to the Governor of Hong Kong
at 1(b) applies in full to a radius of 15 nautical
miles of Weichow Island in the Gulf of Tongking for
third power aircraft whether by day or by night.
By now he has lodged a written protest.
information is interesting in view of the incident
reported in the press that on January 31st an
Imperial Airways machine, named "Delia" was fired on
by the Japanese near the Island of Weichow. The
Governor of Hong Kong was asked yesterday by telegram
for a report on this incident.
