C.R.T.13305/39.
Dear Davies,
RECEIVED
2 JUN:939
0.0.1:26.
1st June, 1939.
You are probably not dealing with the question to which
this letter relates, but will perhaps kindly pass this on to
the proper quarter.
We have received a copy of Colonial Office official
letter (53838/43/39) of the 12th May to the Foreign Office
and the War Office regarding a proposal to establish a
factory in Hong Kong for the manufacture of high explosives.
We should be glad if the Colonial Office would consider
repeating to the Governor the suggestion which we made in the
case of the aircraft factory, that orders for industrial
plant should, so far as possible, be placed in this country.
(see Colonial Office despatch of 14th March to Hong Kong
53846/39).
T.W. Davies Esq.
Yours sincerely,
MR. Willis.
