No.88 of 4th March, 1939, and to forward for your
information the accompanying note of the proceedings at
a meeting between representatives of this Government and the Japanese authorities to discuss the claim for compensation for losses sustained in the Lo Wu incident
of 21st February, 1939.

I trust that the decisions reached will have
your approval. I am very grateful for the prompt assistance given to this Government by His Majesty's
Government and His Britannic Majesty's Ambassador in
Japan in this lamentable affair, which has now,
view, been settled satisfactorily.
