The men I have in view in Shanghai................. (1) HON YUEN LAM,

aged 34 years, native of FAU NING, KIANGSU

Province. Had been a bandit before and a

corporal in the army. When the Japanese

troops occupied FAU NING last time, his

parents, wife and children were killed by

the Japanese Army. He was so grieved that

he went to join the bandits under the

command of PUN HOI FUNG in CHUEN SHA as a

KIANGSU Province, was a corporal in the

Revenue Guard in the year 1931. He joined

the army and was a Company Commander in the

30th Division. He fought in the recent

Shanghai War, and unfortunately was wounded.

He could not retreat with his army. He

has a wife in the refugee's zone in Nanking,

and she was raped by the Japanese soldiers.

His hatred is in the extreme. I recommend-

ed him to work in the refugees' camp as a

temporary means of maintaining his

livelihood.

(The above two men are both courageous and

capable but do not know many characters).

(3) Miss LI WAN LAN, 22 years, native of

KA TING, KIANGSU Province. A graduate of

the SUNG KONG Girls' Normal School. Was

violated by the Japanese soldiers to her
