Secret. The CHING PO of the Puppet Government, dated
April, 22nd, inserted full details of my present condition. On the 17th inst., when TAJIRI the Japanese Consul in
Hongkong interviewed Kerr, he told him that I am a prominent
anti-Japanese leftist element and that I am closely connected
with Kuomintang and the Communist Party and requested Kerr
to pay attention. On the 25th inst. I received an intimid-
ation letter telling me to resign and leave Shanghai
immediately, but I paid no heed to it. I will continue to
make efforts of course. However if my circumstances become
worst I am afraid my work might be affected or interrupted.
