It should be mentioned here that the wireless

station at 771 Nathan Road was extensively used for
transmitting and receiving code telegrams in connection
with the organization of political assassinations.
is perhaps worth mentioning, in passing, that this station
was almost certainly at one time established at 176 Nathan
Road, in the same block of buildings at 172 Nathan Road.
This situation was particularly convenient inasmuch an
access could be obtained from 172 Nathan Road 4th floor to
176 Nathan Road 3rd floor via the flat roof of the block
of buildings. But it is thought probable tha it was
found inadvisable to have an illegal ireless station
so near to the office of an organization whose outward
appearance was one of respectability and also in a part
of Hong Kong largely frequented and inhabited by Europeans.
Therefore the station was moved to 771 Nathan Road which
is in a part of Kowloon where few Europeans live. 771
Nathan Road is an ordinary Chinese tenement house of a
modern type while the block containing 172 and 176 Nathan
Road is essentially European in the character both of its
construction and its inhabitants.

some of the flats in the block and there is a European
restaurant on the ground floor.

In my opinion, every person who can be shown
to have taken any substantial part in the work of the
organization at 172 Nathan Road or to have been connected
with the wireless station at 771 Nathan Road should be told
that his presence in this Colony is no longer welcome.
