Since then, two have
been transferred to Formosa and replaced by two employees of
local business firms. One of the latter is known to have
been forcibly recruited as an "attendant" and had to give up
a very good position in one of the local Japanese shipping
companies very much against his will. This particular
good
individual has a very knowledge of English and has also

acquired a very good knowledge of Hong Kong generally through
being stationed here for number of years. The other "attendant"
replacement came to Hongkong originally in September, 1938,
and for a few months worked as a Special Correspondent for
the "Domei News Agency", but later joined a local firm of
stevedores as a clerk. The latter's name is Yuzo ISIDA.
Another person named Sosuke ISIDA is also living at ISINO's
address and it is possible that he is the father of Yuzo
although to date this has not been confirmed. Apart from the
fact that he lives at ISINO's address and Yuzo ISIDA may be
his son,
there is nothing known so far to connect him with
Military affairs. He claims to be a salesman representing
the NAKAMURA Company of Tokyo, who appear to be either the
agents for the manufacturers of a chemical clay known as
"BENTONITE".
4 The Bank of Taiwan are still sending out reports of a
political nature and in some of them the defences of Hongkong
are mentioned. One of their staff, who has been employed in
the local branch for a number of years, is now reported to be
Secretary General of the Special Service Section for South
China. A map which was originally in this individual's
possession has now come into the possession of Police, which
confirms that he has an interest in more than banking. The
map is supposed to represent part ofvthe Kumamoto Frefecture and
Was made by the Japanese Military staff for the purpose of
manoeuvres there.
