2. The proposals you made as regards Audit
salaries have been accepted by the Gov. and formally
approved by the S. of S.
Mean-
3. We are considering, as a general matter, the
question of adjustment of salary on transfer but
within unified services. But some time must
elapse before anything is finally settled.
while, I am authorised to say that there is no
objection to your proposing, if and when you
recommend Assistant Auditors for transfer to Hong
Kong, that their initial salaries should be fixed
in the manner suggested in your memorandum of
19th October, 1936.
