by the Committee.
It is apparently the practice
curtain
in Hong Kong to appoint to of these specialist
and
posts officers of only medium seniority, for whom
a fixed salary of £1,200 would be too high;
the Governor therefore recommends the adoption of
the scale suggested by the Anomalies Committee,
reducing the maximum to £1,200 for the reasons set
out in 16 on this file.
Health Officers and Assistant
scale dravky
Bacteriologists will on the ordinary time scale draw
extra increments for special qualifications.
The Governor accepts the scale of £950 x
50 to £1,050 for the post of Wireless Engineer
suggested on page 5 of 12, and also the suggestion
for a fixed salary of £750 for Senior Mistresses.
As regards the latter we have had a semi-official
letter from the Governor (see page 3 of 15 on this
file), but I think it is much more satisfactory
to keep the salary of £750, as there was, after all,
little point in reducing it by £10.
I think we shall have to approve the
extension of the scale in paragraph 2 of 19, since
the Governor has already made this decision, but
?3
as regards the points in paragraphs and 4, perhaps
we could first have C.S.D. obsons.
