Note:- In these cases the fishing boats were stopped and searched by the Japanese, after
which the crew of the boat were made to take to their own sampans and row away.
The boats were then set on fire. In some cases, after the Japanese had left the
boat the crew could return and put out the fire and recovered their boats, but in
other cases the boat was allowed to adrift away whilst burning and there is no in-
formation to say what eventually happened to it.
Boat confiscated means that the boat was towed away by the Japanese to an unknown
destination.
