Attached please find statements taken by me from

CHAN FU LEE, 27 years, owner of Fishing Junk No.3870 H.0. and CHAN CHAU FAT, 25 years, foki, whose fishing junk No.3870 H.0. was destroyed by fire by a Japanese trawler on the 12th October, 1939, also report by Officer in Charge No.3 Police

Launch.

On the 14th October, 1939, I went to the scene of

the outrage with the above 2 men on board No.3 launch and they pointed out to the Officer in Charge No.3 Launch a position about midway between FAN LAU Point and CHI CHAU Island inside territorial waters, as the place where the

burning occurred. There were no lives lost but property to the value of $600.00 was destroyed and the junk was damaged by fire beyond repair and is now lying in TAI O harbour.
