Since the 27th March, 1939, I have been employed by the
TONG(裕和堂
YU WO TONG) Oyster Bed Company at LAU FAU SHAN
( 流浮山 ), PING SHAN ( Li ) District, British territory.
I am the sole owner and the master of a fishing junk
in capacity.
No.2246 A.D. The junk is licensed in my name and of 2882 piculs
The licence entitles me to possess 9 cannons, 100
lbs of bullets, 100 lbs of gunpowder, 3 rifles and 100 rounds
for same.
The YU WO TONG Company employs me and my junk with a
complete crew to watch their oyster beds off LAU FAU SHAN at a
monthly rate of $180.00 (Hong Kong). I also do a little fishing
in the vicinity.
On the 24th October, 1939, at about 21.00 hours I was
fishing about 1000 Chinese feet (witness pointed out a spot
approximately 700 to 800 yards away when asked to do so, at
Tai Po Police Station when making statement), from LAU FAU SHAN,
in Deep Bay.
At that time it was full moon, but a little cloudy.
Visibility was good, I could distinguish the houses at LAU FAU
SHAN with a naked eye, and with my binoculars could see PING
SHAN Police Station (about 3 miles distant).
There were on board 22 persons, males, females and
children, including myself. List attached.
In the vicinity there were about 10 smaller boats
fishing.
I heard a motor boat approaching from the direction of
LING TING (151), i.e. the mouth of the Bay. Not having

noticed the LOK MA CHAU Police Motor Boat passing LAU FAU SHAN
that afternoon or evening, I studied it through my binoculars.
It was not the Police Boat, but a strange one about the same
size, with a high bow, and an awnino oravich In
