I looked for

the owner of the junk but failed to find him. I then returned

to Ping Shan Police Station and reported the result of my

enquiries to Mr. Booker, Assistant Superintendent of Police

(New Territories). Subsequent to this I again visited Deep Bay

on board No.3 Police Launch on 20th September, 1939, and was

present when the Officer in Charge, Acting Sub-Inspector George

took a bearing on the position of the wreck. On 22nd September,

1939, I again visited Deep Bay on board No.3 Police Launch

accompanied by the owner of the junk CHAU HANG TSAN ( 周恒赞

who on request pointed out the approximate position of his junk

when boarded by the Japanese. On being pointed out Acting Sub-

Inspector George took a bearing, these are contained in attached

statements from Acting Sub-Inspector George. The wreck of this

junk now lies in Castle Peak Bay.
