incidence of expenditure which has

been incurred in connection with

refugees evacuated from China who

are not British subjects, and to

inform you that the matter has been

given careful consideration, but that

it has been decided that the

expenditure in question cannot be

accepted as a charge on Imperial

funds. I regret that in the

circumstances it will be necessary

for the expenditure out to

be met from Hong Kong Government

funds
