the benefit of their employees.
Naval Yard Service.
No pensions are payable. On retirement, however,
and subject to a certain qualifying period of service H.M. Treasury may grant a compassionate gratuity not exceeding one pound or one week's pay whichever is the greater, for each
completed year of service.
Military Service.
On
No pension or provident fund are payable.

All regularly employed clerks are entitled to free medical (but not hospital) treatment; no rent allowances are
payable.
Asiatic Petroleum Company.
A provident fund is provided for which all staff with
salaries over $20 per month are eligible after one year's service. This is on a contributory basis 10% (or 5% at members option) being deducted from salaries, and a like amount paid in
by the Company.
A Chinese New Year bonus in cash to all members of
the Chinese staff is paid and this amounts to half of one
month's pay.

Chinese clerks are not entitled to any pension or
