With reference to Colonial Office letter of the
9th December, 1938, No. 53529/38, on the subject of the site
of the proposed new Naval Hospital at Hong Kong, I am
commanded by My Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to ask
that the Secretary of State for the Colonies will be good
enough to obtain the consent of the Governor of Hong Kong
to an extension of the option on the site for a further
year from September 1939, as My Lords are not yet in a
position to commence building operations.
