to which, as you are aware, these Hospitals have been

exposed in recent years. It is also hoped that the

voluntary contributions to their funds, particularly

from the important European firms in the Colony, which

have lately shown signs of decreasing, owing no doubt

to a certain suspicion if not of maladministration at

least of financial imprudence, will now be encouraged.
