With reference to my despatch No. 21 of 27th March,

I have the honour to transmit herewith two lists of the

arms and ammunition received in Lashio by rail for

onward transportation to China by lorry over the Burma-

Yunnan motor road by the South West Transportation

Company, between 18th February, (the date of receipt of the

first consignment), and 30th March inclusive. These lists

have been abstracted from details kindly supplied at my

request by the Superintendent, Northern Shan States,

Lashio.

They supersede the list enclosed with my

despatch under reference.

2c In reply to en enquiry regarding their freight

prospects in munitions Messrs. the Irrawaddy Flotilla

Company Limited inform me that the only additional cargo

for China that has come their way has been on account of

the Intercontinental Corporation for whom their vessels

have carried some 1,500 tons of factory material and
