With reference to your letter No. F.10102/28/10 of the 13th September regarding the transit of
arms and ammunition across Burma to China, I am
directed to state for the information of Viscount
Halifax that the Marquess of Zetland having consulted the Government of Burma agrees that, so far as the Government of Burma is concerned the assurance sought
by the United States Government should be given to
them.
Copies of this letter are being sent to the Admiralty, Board of Trade, Colonial Office and
Ministry of Economic Warfare.
