dare to put forward for Your Excellency's consideration a
suggestion for the revision of our salaries, which, if you
could see your way clear to granting it, would enable the
Police to marry at a reasonable age, raise a family and
live in reasonable comfort and security, which we are sure
is Your Excellency's desire. Our suggestion is that the
rank of Police Sergeant be abolished and that the increments
attached to the attainment of that rank be added to the
increments of the rank of Lance-Sergeant.
