substantive promotions in the

Education Department, Hong Kong:- (i) Mr. W. L. Handyside, Senior Master, to a post of Senior

Inspector of Schools, rendered

vacant by the promotion from 1st

April, 1939, of Mr. C. G. Sollis

to the post of Director of Education,

(ii) Mr. G. E. S. Upsdell, Senior master, to

the new superscale post of Principal, Central

British School,

(iii) Mr. D. M. Richards, European Master, to

the post of Senior Master which would be vacated

by Mr. Handyside, and

(iv) Mr. G. W. Reeve, European Master, to the

post of Senior Master which would be vacated by

Mr. Upsdell.
