I am directed to refer to your letter dated
3rd. March 1937, enclosing a petition addressed to
His Excellency the Governor regarding the salaries and
posts open to graduate mistresses in the Education
Department, and to say that His Excellency proposes to
recommend to the Secretary of State for the Colonies
the salary scale for European mistresses set out in
the report of the Anomalies Committee, as communicated
to the Director of Education, but that he is not
prepared to recommend any differentiation between
graduates and non-graduates.
