mistresses receive no higher salary, and have far less favourable prospects
than the non-graduate mistresses, their hours of work are unavoidably longer,
since they teach at the four senior schools, where the hours are longer than
at the Junior British Schools.
The graduate mistresses, therefore humbly submit their case to Your
Excellency and beg that in future:-
1. The Headship of Belilios Girls' Secondary School should always be given
to a graduate.
2.
3.
Two of the four senior posts be reserved for graduates.
In view of the fact that the training of graduales takes longer than
that of non-graduates and that a longer period of teaching experience is
required of them, graduate mistresses should receive an addition of two
increments to the initial salary, such increments to be added to the salary
of graduates at present in the Colony.
