in advance by the Director: provided that if the school.

has been compulsorily closed by lawful authority or has

otherwise failed for whatever cause to meet without

obtaining the Director's permission in advance and reports

the circumstances to the Director at the earliest occasion,

the Director may in his discretion exempt it from the

operation of this rule.

6. It is a condition of the receipt of any subsidy

that the Correspondent promptly notifies the Director

should it close on account of sickness and promptly

complies with any order given by the Director for its

closure or for the exclusion of particular pupils from

attendance.

(4) NATURE OF THE SUBSIDIES.

7. (a) In urban schools the subsidy takes the form

of a Capitation Grant at graduated rates. The approved

rates are as follows:-

(b) In rural schools the grant is in two parts

(i) A bulk subsidy at graduated rates payable to

the school as such,

and (ii) an additional grant at the rate of $20 a year

in respect of every five units by which the average

attendance exceeds a basic figure.

(iii) The graduated rates for bulk subsidy are as

follow:-
